Concoction hatchback Ford Focus RS, soon will be enjoyed not only the speed enthusiast in Europe, but also the global markets, including the US.
"We announced the new Focus RS will be marketed in the US and global markets," said Ford CEO Mark Fields, in a press conference in Dearborn, as quoted practicalmotoring.com.
Previous rumors said Focus RS, which will be positioned at the top of the type ST, will be offered as a model in 2016 and equipped with four-cylinder EcoBoost engine models turbocharged 2.3-liter.
Details regarding this machine has not revealed all, but the same machine that is grafted on the Mustang in 2015, producing power 310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Ford reportedly will tamper again this make it more powerful engine, first used in the Focus which is actually lighter weight than the Mustang.
Nevertheless, a great power that would not make this machine be wasteful of fuel. Besides going more powerful than the type ST, Focus RS will also adopt an all-wheel drive system, which will challenge the Volkswagen Golf R. Fields also explain the global marketing of the Focus RS was included in part of Ford's product strategy called "One Ford".
For the US version of the Focus will be produced at Ford's assembly plant in Michigan, but for the RS model is likely to be produced in Europe and then exported to the US and other countries in the world, which may be a limited edition version.
